Video Privacy Notice and Candidate Acknowledgement

Thank you for your interest in working with Purpose Education Collective Inc. (PEC). Please read this privacy notice before you begin. It summarizes Section 6 of the PEC Privacy Policy, which also applies.

1. What you will be asked to do

You will record video answers to preset questions using Willo Technologies Ltd (the "Provider"), a third-party platform. PEC staff will review your recording later. Your recording will capture your image, voice and answers.

2. Who operates the platform and where your data goes

  • The Provider, not PEC, owns and operates the platform and the systems that store your recording.

  • Your information will be stored and processed by the Provider and its service providers in the EU, US and Canada, and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by its authorities.

  • The Provider's own terms of use and privacy policy also apply when you use its platform.

3. Who at PEC sees your recording and why

Only PEC staff and authorized representatives involved in recruitment will access your recording, and only to assess your application, make hiring and assignment decisions, plan our workforce and meet legal requirements. We do not share your recording with clients.

4. Use of automated tools and AI

The platform uses artificial intelligence to transcribe, summarize and score responses. A PEC staff member reviews every application, and no hiring decision is made by automated tools alone. PEC does not use tools that analyze facial expressions, emotions or voice characteristics.

5. How long we keep it

If you are not hired, your recording will be deleted within 6 months after the recruitment round closes, unless you ask us to keep you in consideration for future roles or the law requires us to keep it longer. If you are hired, your recording is deleted once hiring is complete.

6. Your choices

  • You do not have to use the video tool. To request a live interview or another accommodation instead, email careers@purpose-educate.com before your deadline. Choosing an alternative will not, by itself, disadvantage your application.

  • You can ask us to delete your recording at any time by emailing privacy@purpose-educate.com. Deleting it ends consideration for this application unless we arrange an alternative.

  • Record only what is needed. Use a private space, avoid showing other people or ID documents, and please do not share health, family or other sensitive details unless you are requesting an accommodation.

7. Risks you should know about

Sending information over the internet and storing it with a third party carries risks, including unauthorized access, cyberattacks, software faults, service outages and human error. PEC reviews the Provider's privacy and security practices and has a contract requiring it to protect your information, but PEC does not operate or control the Provider's systems, and no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Responsibility for the Provider's systems

The Provider is an independent company. PEC does not own, host, operate or control its systems, staff or subprocessors. When you use the platform, you enter into your own agreement with the Provider under its terms.

Your responsibilities. You are responsible for keeping your own device, internet connection, email and platform login secure, and for submitting only the information requested.

Release. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that:

  • PEC makes no warranty or guarantee that the Provider's systems will be secure, uninterrupted, error-free or free from data loss;

  • PEC is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage, cost or claim arising from a security incident, outage, defect, act or omission within or by the Provider or its subprocessors, except to the extent caused by PEC's own failure to meet an obligation that applicable law places on PEC; and

  • you release PEC from claims arising from such events, and from events caused by your own devices, networks, accounts or credentials.

If PEC learns of a security incident affecting your information, PEC will work with the Provider and give you any notice required by law.

Your legal rights are not affected. Nothing in this acknowledgment waives any right you have under applicable privacy, employment or human rights law, or excludes any obligation or liability that the law does not allow PEC to exclude. If any part of this acknowledgment is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

9. Acknowledgment

By agreeing and proceeding to use the Provider’s tool for the one-way video recording, I confirm that:

  • I have read this notice and the PEC Privacy Policy.

  • I understand my video interview will be stored and processed by an independent third-party Provider, which may be outside my province or outside Canada, and that the Provider's own terms also apply to me.

  • I understand the risks in Section 7, accept my responsibilities in Section 8, and agree to the release in Section 8 to the extent permitted by law.

  • I understand I may request an alternative to the video interview, and may ask for my recording to be deleted.

  • I consent to PEC collecting, using and retaining my video interview and related information for the purposes described above.
